Jia Hua is a fictional character in Luo Guanzhong's historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. He served as a military general under the warlord Sun Quan. Jia and Song Qian served as Sun's bodyguards during the Battle of Xiaoyao Ford. Jia was also ordered by Sun Quan to assassinate Liu Bei in Ganlu Temple when Liu was meeting Sun's stepmother Wu Guotai. Jia led 300 men and laid in ambush inside the temple, waiting for Sun's signal to dash out and kill Liu. However, Liu sensed the assassins in hiding and pleaded with Wu Guotai to spare his life. Wu Guotai was astonished because she was unaware of the assassination plot. She angrily ordered Jia and his men to come out of hiding and reprimanded Jia severely. She wanted to have Jia executed but Sun Quan pleaded for Jia's life and he was spared.
